Hi, I'm Freddie

Hello there everyone I'm Freddie and I'm part Labrador and part Catahoula Leopard Dog. Catahoula What? I know I get that comment and strange look a lot. I am the state dog of Louisiana and I am used for herding cows and pigs. I am between 1 and 1 and a half, atleast so they think, so I have a lot of puppy in me still. I moved in with Missi and Andy on July 28th, so that is my official birthday. They found me at the Animal Humane Society in their home town. Missi was just out and about cause Andy wasn't going to be home right away so she thought she would go and see what the humane society had since she had been looking for a dog for quite sometime. My new mom walked in and saw me standing over by the cat cages with my foster mommy. Why would I have a foster Mommy you might ask. Well I was originally surrendered to the humane society back in March and when the doctor looked at me she noticed that I didn't have full range of motion in my back right leg, they did an x-ray and it showed that the ball joint between my leg and my hip had been shattered. The people who surrendered me found me as a stray and decieded to give me up cause I wasn't a good enough farm dog. The nice ladies at the humane society couldn't figure out if I was in a car accident or if I was beaten, Missi thinks I could of been kicked by a cow on the farm but I am the only one who really knows and I just can't remember.

My Foster mom and dad took such good care of me. I originally had a surgery where they removed my ball joint and then I had to do lots of physical therapy, but I was still favoring my leg so Dr. Sue at the humane society thought it would be in my best interest to amputate my leg. So yes my new photographer Dad Andy got a new Tri-pod. I get around just great on the leg, but I do get a little tired after walking for a long period of time. I even went for a walk the other night with Missi and a nice man gave me a whole bad of doggie treats. I am totally working this three legged thing for all it is worth, why not right?
I have been trying to get close to Belle and Abbey, Missi and Andy's cats but they just run and hide or hiss as me.... I guess that is just the way things are as I am a new person in their house. Missi and Andy bought me all kinds of new toys and even doggie ice cream, I get that on Sundays just like my Grandma Jacquie, she always has ice cream on Sundays.

Well this is me, I am sure you will be hearing more from me.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Love always

Freddie, Missi, Andy, Belle and ABbey.
